Week Two
So I have decided to change my story a bit, well more than a bit. This is because as I was starting to type up the story for my update this week I couldn’t really get into it and I truly didn’t want to spend the next five weeks writing and putting out a story that I would not read myself, because if the writer doesn’t like their own story then what’s the point in writing it? So instead of my teenage werewolf with pack troubles, I will be writing about a young adopted boy who is learning that he has the ability to harness black magic at will. It will be about his past and actually parents and what he now has to deal with because of that. I will at some point have a draft drawing of him and some of the other characters, but for now my updates will pretty much consist of the story and dialogue for the graphic novel to come. I’m hopeful that I’ll be getting onto filling in my book before the end of the year. The graphic novel will have about one hundred pages total but they won’t be full pages of word. Most will have picture along with the text. I believe I’m going to hand write my book just so that I don’t have to deal with how to glue on the printed text. However, this will be difficult because I have crap for handwriting but I’m going to work with it. So from here on out this will be the story and more interesting updates will come soon. |
Week Three
Bewitched And God said, let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. Well he apparently decided I needed all the damn darkness. Of course God didn’t care about the newborn baby abandoned at the fire department, who’s still bouncing around the foster system at sixteen. Everyone keeps telling me that my birth mom probably did it for my own good, yea maybe she was a fifteen-year-old strung out meth head who got pregnant because she was selling her body to get off the streets, that would explain why I turned out so fucked up. I can’t complain too much right now though; the foster parents I have right now aren’t so bad though I guess. They let do about whatever I want, well I mean when they see me that is. I wake up early to go hang out at school and don’t come home until around midnight every night. Even when they do see me they don’t care how I look, come back with snake bites, no reaction just a how was your day Liam? I swear these people are just robots that wanted to have a kid and couldn’t reproduce cause their manufacture forgot the parts. Eh I’ve been with then the longest so I can’t complain too much, one and a half years and counting. After the first year came to an end, I finally decided I might actually stay here for a while, so I started making friends. Ya know after you don’t talk for the first year you’re at a new school it terrifies everyone once you finally do. After the shock wore off I found my own little group of people. A few are a lot like me, but some of the others I think are just trying to seem like a broken child. The people in the group that I actually enjoy being in the same room as consist of five people. Jade, little bitty girl who looks like she’s constantly strung out on something she shouldn’t be able to get a hold of cause she only like 14. I mean her life started out ruff and she has and abusive step dad but still. Ben and Ty, who are almost complete identical twins but Ben has ginger hair and somehow always has a new girl he’s sleeping with. His brother on the other hand has hair that looks like it went Tokyo ghoul on him or something, and has been dating the same girl for all three years of high school. Which brings me to Annabelle, I swear to you this girl looks like a porcelain doll come to life. She has the creepiest deadpan face that is always made up with pail lip gloss, nude eye shadows, and enough blush for five people. Annie always wears a dress that looks like one a pin up model would wear for a shoot. And last but not least Raven, a short girl who has crimson hair which she dyed black streaks into, to many piercings to count, and eyes that if you look hard enough you can see the damage and hurt in them. Raven’s been through a lot, I mean we all have but her story’s the worst of all. Her mom and dad abused her up until they got caught and throw into jail to rot. After that she was put with her creep of an uncle who, and I won’t go into details, but has been caught trying to seduce her into bed. She refuses to report him so she just goes home really late to avoid him. I guess I should also mention she’s my girlfriend. It’s not a big deal we just get along really well so it works *BINNNNNNGGGG* Damn it, class bell. Guess I should go before the teacher has another existential crisis. First hours the worst not just because it’s math, but because none of my friends made the same hour. Not to mention Mrs. Thorn runs the class like tyrant whose breakfast burrito wasn’t cook exactly how she wanted it. “So today class we will be learning about- *Ringggg ringgggg* “Mrs. Thorns classroom, what can I help you with? Yep I’ll send him right down. Mr. Jones you’re needed in the office.” Oh god this can’t be good. Getting called to the office is never a good thing when you’re a kid like me. Everything gets blamed on the antisocial people cause no one knows who they really are. The walk to the office for anyone feels like a walk straight down the spiral staircase to hell anyway. “What did you need Kerry?” Kerry was the good part of the office. She is the sweetest most understanding person you would ever meet. Kerry always smells like the freshly whipped icing in a French bakery and never has a bad day. Hmm maybe she’s the robot. “Well it’s not me that needs you it’s your mom.” As she pointed to behind me the sweet scent of berries came across his nose leading a trail towards the woman Kerry said was here for him. “Who the hell is that? That isn’t my foster mom.” “No Liam I’m your real mom. It’s nice to finally meet you.” There’s no way this woman can be my mom is there? No, no chance, this person is put together, hair, makeup, decent clothes. My mom is a wreck who couldn’t handle a baby cause she was young and on drugs and homeless. But, but, her eyes they look like mine the same pail green-blue like looking into a reflection of myself. No, she can’t come back for you after sixteen years aa and *BANG* owww Good god, why does my head hurt so much? “Shit that wasn’t a dream was it.” “No Liam no it wasn’t.” UPDATE So this week is just a story update. This is how far I've gotten into the story. Next week will be more of the same. The things that are in astrises are noises that I'm going to draw into the book. |
Week Four
So this week I didn’t get enough on the story to post for an update, but I did draw the new logo for the website. This will also be what I put as the book cover with the title. Other than that all I’ve done towards the book is start sketching out Liam’s familiar, his mom familiar, and the characters themselves. The familiars will come later in the book. If you’re not sure what a familiar is in fantasy and magic type things, they are either a spirit or lower level demon in the form of an animal that is sent to act as a servant or spy for the witch or wizard as long as they practice magic. Some will even stay with their owner after they stop their practice and live the rest of their lives out with them. Liam’s is going to be a large cat by the name of Tigerwood, and his mother’s will be a snake named enchantress. Other than that I don’t really have anything for the book so hopefully I can get more done this coming week. |
